Mental Health First Aid Training and Certificate

Mental Health First Aid is an international, evidenced-based education program proven to be effective in teaching adults how to recognize and respond to signs and symptoms of mental health and substance use challenges.

Just as CPR helps you assist an individual having a heart attack, Mental Health First Aid is a course that teaches you how to identify, understand and respond to signs of mental illnesses and substance use disorders. The training gives you the skills you need to reach out and provide initial help and support to someone who may be developing a mental health or substance use problem or experiencing a crisis.

Employers are essential partners within the trauma-informed system, but are often excluded from these important conversations, leaving most businesses unprepared for the impending trauma-tsunami entering their businesses. Ask yourself. Do you or your leaders know how to recognize signs of depression or suicide ideation? Would you or your leaders know how to provide support to staff mental health support?

Topics Covered:

  • Depression and mood disorders

  • Anxiety disorders

  • Trauma

  • Psychosis

  • Substance Use disorders

Mental Health First Aid teaches about recovery and resiliency – the belief that individuals experiencing these challenges can and do get better, and use their strengths to stay well.

Group training dates coming soon.
